Exciting news! We are proud to announce Jennifer Epps-Addison as our new executive director. A leader with deep roots in Milwaukee, Jen is committed to the core values that drive Wisconsin Jobs Now’s vision for social and economic justice across the state with collective, direct action as a fundamental fighting principle.
As Jen said, “From the very beginning, WJN has built power for hardworking Wisconsinites, workplace by workplace and door to door, doing exactly the work necessary to create a Milwaukee and Wisconsin that works for all of us. I am truly honored to be selected as the new executive director.”
Jen brings nearly 15 years of organizing experience and a history of playing an integral role in winning campaigns on a variety of economic and social justice issues to WJN. Her accomplishments include leading the campaign for paid sick days and fighting for in-state tuition for undocumented immigrants.
She served as the lead organizer behind Milwaukee’s historic MORE ordinance, which established community benefit standards for economic development projects using public funds and won top prize in the National League of Cities’ Cultural Diversity Awards in 2010. As Executive Director, Jen will continue leading a broad coalition of community groups, labor unions, and elected officials in the fight to raise wages and job standards for Wisconsin workers.
In October, Jen received the 2013 Edna Award from the Berger-Marks Foundation, which honors an outstanding young woman each year for her leadership in fueling social change.
If you already know Jen, then you know why we’re so excited to welcome her to WJN. If you don’t know her yet, we think you’ll be as impressed as we are as she shares her vision for our city and our state.
