These are the events that transpired Dec 6, in Washington, D.C. as over 100 brave Wisconsinites traveled from their chilly homes to the front-lines of government. They made the 1000 mile plus journey in order to share their stories and to let Washington know that it may no longer ignore the needs of the 99%. In doing so, constituents went to the offices of Rep. Petri, Duffy, and Ryan as well as the office of Sen. Johnson.
At first many of the reps refused to meet with their constituents. Paul Ryan’s staff actually barred people from entering and waiting for their rep as seen in the video below.
And later on, they shut down a ten year old boy after he made it clear he wouldn’t be around in a week when they wanted him to make an appointment.
Constituents in Sean Duffy’s office were a bit more successful as they were able to convince the Congressman to meet with them.
Sen. Johnson and Sen. Petri also met with their constituents as seen below.
Overall, the take back of the Capitol, participated in by over 3000 citizens from across the country, made it clear that Congress can no longer afford to ignore the will of the 99%.
